What is the Docent program?

The Docent Program brings the museum to our students! Over the course of the school year, volunteer parent docents give presentations on various artists, art styles, time periods, cultures, and more; all supplemented by games and projects to reinforce the lessons.

You do not need to have a background in art history! 

Docent volunteers are trained on each presentation before they present to their class. All materials are supplied including easy to follow guidelines for the PowerPoint presentation and the activity!

How can you help?

The Docent program is completely volunteer based, with funding from the Elm Street PAC. We need parents who want to spend time in their child's classrooms and have fun! Docents can present in pairs or solo, however you prefer. Sign up for a specific topic, or let us know if you can only do a few per year. We want to make this as easy for you as possible

It is a fun and easy way to spend time in the classroom and the kids really enjoy it!
