Elm Street Holiday Makers Market

Description

Elm Street is excited to host a “Holiday Makers Market” on Monday, December 18th from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the Elm Street Cafetorium, which will be transformed into a Holiday Gift Market!

Students, families, friends and neighbors will be invited to shop the Holiday Makers Market for unique gifts made by our Elm students. Customers who purchase gifts will be given an opportunity to wrap their purchases to maintain the special surprise for their gift recipients!

But first, the Market won’t be successful without goods for sale! Elm students have a wonderful opportunity to show off their creative, artistic and entrepreneurial talents. Go solo or team up with friends to create your own “sales booth.” Do you have a special skill like knitting, crocheting, or origami? Do you love to make jewelry, candles, soap or stickers? Do you create special art like drawings, paintings or photographs? Paper-crafter, Cricut-pros, bow makers…all are welcome! Your creativity is the limit!

Each student who wishes to sell their goods at the market (“student vendor”) should complete the Sign-Up Genius including the item they intend to sell. The cost to rent a sales booth is $3 per space (e.g., if three students collaborate for one product, the cost is $3 for one space).

See below for additional FAQs:

What should I charge for my goods

Each student vendor will set their own price for their goods. Makers and artists should consider cost of supplies, the market price of similar products and what they think a customer might pay.

How do customers pay for goods?

Just like a real market, customers will pay each vendor directly for any purchases. Student vendors should be prepared to make change for different denominations, have a safe place to store their cash, and may offer a Venmo option with the help of a parent/guardian.

What else do I need to bring?

The only thing required is to bring your goods for sale and a way to accept payment. However, student vendors can treat this like a real market if they choose! Feel free to bring anything you’d like to decorate your “booth” (we will allocate part of a café table to each vendor)! Do you want to have a brand logo or company name to display? Think about how you will you present, package and show the price of your goods, etc.

Can non-students sell their products?

This event is limited to Elm Street student vendors only. However, anyone is welcome to come and shop!
